Help99 glossary

Support code
- A support code is the six-digit number an agent creates and gives to a customer so the customer can join one consultation. It works once and expires after 3 minutes if unused. A person who has already joined stays connected after the code expires.
Browser screen sharing
- Browser screen sharing means showing a tab, window or screen to another person using the screen-capture feature built into the browser, with nothing to download. The sharer picks what to show in the browser's own picker.
Consent
- Consent in Help99 means the customer agrees before anything is shared and then chooses a screen themselves. Agreeing does not share anything by itself, and the customer can stop at any time.
View-only guidance
- View-only guidance is helping someone while they watch a shared screen, with a pointer to show where to look and optional voice. The person watching cannot click or type on the sharer's computer.
Remote control
- Remote control lets one person operate another person's computer with their own mouse and keyboard, usually through an installed app. Help99 does not offer remote control.
Screen sharing vs remote control
- Screen sharing lets two people look at the same screen while one guides the other. Remote control lets one person act on the other's device, and unattended access lets someone connect when nobody is present. Help99 is screen sharing only, with no remote control and no unattended access.
